Sponsoring Earth Day Fair

Our Mission:

Green Aberdeen is a volunteer group committed to serving the Aberdeen area by promoting and implementing practices consistent with sustainable living such as conservation of resources, waste reduction, recycling, and increased reliance on renewable energy.

Dear Potential Sponsor,

We would like your help in creating a better community while doing our part to save our planet.

In sponsoring our Earth Day Fair, you can help us continue to get out the message that our planet is worth saving and ways to achieve it.

“Earth Day Fair 2020” is being held on Sunday, April 19th, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Central Park and the Briscoe Building. As in our past Earth Day Fairs, we will have speakers, booths, live music, food, activities for all ages, and a chance to continue to build relationships within the community. We are also sponsoring an event at the Red Rooster Coffee House on Wednesday, April 22nd, that will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the First Earth Day in the late afternoon.  There will be an art show at the Red Rooster all week for people to check out. On that Wednesday, will have an open mike from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm for artists to ready poetry, tell a story, or share some music. At 7:00 pm we will have a featured artist (to yet be decided) for an Earth Day Concert.

Your contribution will help us fund our Earth Day Fair, our goals for this year (shown below), and become a partner in moving our community forward. In sponsoring, you will receive free booth space at our Fair and your company name/logo will be on our posters and all promotion for our event.

One of Green Aberdeen’s goals for this year is to do a survey of our Aberdeen Community in which we are partnering with NSU. We hope that the survey will be completed by the end of April.  This survey is asking our Aberdeen community questions from global climate change to local recycling (go to our website and take it yourself: www.greenaberdeen.org ). This will give us the direction our organization needs to carry out our mission. Other goals for this year are to place water bottle station(s) and electric car charging station(s) on Main Street in Downtown Aberdeen; participate in community events such as the Farmers Market, Downtown Concert Series, Home Builders Show, Chautauqua, and Aberdeen’s Night Out; and to screen a film/documentary at the Capital Theater.

As President, my personal hope for our community and Green Aberdeen is the creation of a carbon-neutral, zero-waste community to help counteract the effects of global climate change that is affecting our world right now. This task won’t be quick or easy, but every step we take, lessens the impact on our planet now and in the future.

Please consider being a part of our 2020 Earth Day Celebration, with your sponsorship, and more importantly, join us in our mission in creating a better future for our community, our country, and our world.

Peace,

Rev. Enno K. Limvere

President, Green Aberdeen
